2021 Summer Reminders
7/1/2021 (Permalink)
Every summer we need to remind everyone on the Jersey Shore to know how to prevent fires. We get preoccupied with the thoughts planning events or meeting with family and friends especially since the covid restrictions have been lifted. We think of all the outdoor activities like the 4th of July, cook outs, camping, vacations and all things to enjoy in the hot weather. As the temperature rises, so does the risk for a fire! Here are some reminders of things to remember while enjoying the hot weather:
#1. Be sure to keep your grill clean!
Grease is very flammable. Clean all the built-up grime after every use.
#2. Back yard Fire pits or open fires in wooded areas- Make sure the fire is out!
When you’re done roasting the marshmallows make sure the fire is out and cooled down completely.
#3. Have water or sand on standby incase the fire gets out of control!
Whether a bucket or a bottle, in situations where fire or embers are present a water or sand reserve to control a possible flare is an important precaution.
#4. Be aware of fireworks and sparklers!
It’s all fun and games until the lawn catches on fire. Or a child burning their hand while holding a sparkler.
We hope these reminder tips are helpful! We need to enjoy the summer! For information on fire prevention and damage check out our Fire Damage Tips page to learn more about what to do if a fire occurs or call our experts at 609-549-0379.
