Mold Season is Coming

Summer is coming to the Jersey Shore and you can be certain that there will be moisture on the east coast. “So, what?” you ask? Frizzy hair is not the only quirk that comes with the high-humidity season. Soon we will be immersed in long, hot days of melted popsicles, musty lawn mowers and possibly, you guessed it, mold growth. Excess humidity and moisture are the number one cause of mold in homes or businesses. Mold, defined by some as allergens and irritants, will definitely defeat the feel-good summer vibe we’ve been waiting all winter for. You may have seen in the media stories about “black mold” and “toxic mold” which are definite buzz kills. These stories can be both alarming and confusing and most likely, do little to help you understand what you may be experiencing in your home.
